The Hilltop Store
The building was first constructed in 1924. It had a market garden at the rear which grew vegetables for the shopfront. Over the years it has seen many faces in its long-standing tenure within the coastal town of Sawtell.
A refurbishment by the Hilltop Team brought it back to life in 2018. Nestled at the top of First Avenue five minutes walk from the main strip, The Hilltop Store began servicing the community as a licensed cafe, serving award-winning Single O coffee and a delicious food offering for breakfast and lunch seven days a week.
The Owners
Matt, Carla and Richie are hospitality professionals with impressive resumes to boot.
Carla and Richie have honed their skills working for some of Australia's top chefs, including Matt Moran and Colin Fassnidge.
Their food philosophy is simple; make it delicious and unfussy. Taking the season’s abundance and executing that in dishes that are instant favourites
Heading up the Front of house, Matt's attention to detail and passion for customer service is unwavering. Matt is always looking to elevate the dining experience with impeccable customer service and staff knowledge. He takes great pride in mentoring and developing the front-of-house team, and creating a relaxed and welcoming space for our clientele.
